Short Term Rental Must Haves!

As the world of travel evolves, short-term rentals have become increasingly popular for both business and leisure travelers. These unique accommodations offer a personalized and comfortable experience that hotels often can't match. To make your short-term rental stand out and provide guests with an exceptional stay, certain must-haves are essential. In this blog post, we'll explore the key elements that can transform your property into a sought-after home away from home.

1. Comfortable Beds, Bedding & Towels

One of the first things guests notice when they enter a short-term rental is the quality of the bedding. Invest in comfortable, high-quality mattresses and provide soft, clean linens, pillows, and blankets. A good night's sleep is crucial for a memorable stay. We offer homeowners a great option for high quality bed linens and towels that wash and dry quickly and withstand many years of use without those annoying little thread peels. However, homeowners can certainly choose their own.

2. Fully Equipped Kitchen

A well-equipped kitchen is a top priority for many travelers who opt for short-term rentals. Make sure your kitchen includes essential appliances like a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and basic cookware, utensils, and dinnerware. A coffee maker and toaster are also appreciated additions. Others that we have found guests use is a crock pot, wine glasses, baking sheets, casserole dishes, appropriate cutlery and a propane grill.

3. High-Speed Wi-Fi

In today's digitally connected world, reliable high-speed Wi-Fi is non-negotiable. Ensure your property has a robust internet connection that can handle multiple devices simultaneously. A strong Wi-Fi signal allows guests to work remotely, stream entertainment, and stay connected with loved ones.

4. Cleaning Supplies for Guests

Cleanliness is a critical factor that can make or break a guest's experience. Guests have appreciated basic cleaning supplies during their stay to tidy up after the day’s activities. We have also found that a good home vacuum and basic mop will be used if left for guest use. And we certainly appreciate when they do tidy up before checkout.

5. Clear House Rules and Instructions

Upon arrival, having a great Guest Manual to provide clear and concise house rules and instructions for guests is important. This includes check-in and check-out procedures, information on how to use appliances, and any rules specific to your property. Transparency fosters a positive guest experience. We customize and build our Guest Manuals for each home to the specific needs of each property. Whether you have paddle boards or a hot tub, instructions to set clear expectations is key to ensuring guests know how to treat your home.

6. Essentials and Toiletries

The days of traveling with bottles of shampoo and other basic items are gone! It is our priority to ensure guests arrive to a well stocked home while on vacation and this is an essential must-have for short term rentals. We supply a large list of basic amenities such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, coffee, creamer, etc…much more. This cost is never passed on to the homeowner. Guests appreciate not having to rush to the store for these necessities upon arrival.

7. Entertainment Options

Offer a range of entertainment options to cater to various guest preferences. A Smart TV with streaming services, board games, books, and local attraction information can enhance the overall experience.

8. Safety Features

Safety should always be a top priority. Install smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers. Provide clear emergency contact information for guests and have a first-aid kit on hand.

9. Personal Touches

Consider adding personal touches that make your rental unique. This could be local artwork, a welcome basket with snacks, or a guestbook for travelers to share their experiences.

10. Responsive Communication

Hosting guests time and time again can be intimidating when you have to answer many questions. But it is the most important thing when a guest is either considering a stay in a home or is in one of our homes. We prioritize professional, friendly and respectful communication to ensure they feel warm & welcome hospitality from us while they are in your home.

Creating a short-term rental that guests rave about involves attention to detail and a commitment to providing a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming space. By incorporating these must-haves into your rental property, you can elevate the guest experience and build a reputation for excellence that will keep guests returning and leaving glowing reviews. Remember, a well-prepared rental is not just a place to stay; it's a home away from home where travelers can create cherished memories.
